Búger (North)
The small municipality of Búger is located in the northern interior of Mallorca and is surrounded by Sa Pobla and Campanet, which are located northwest of the village. The nearest beach, the Bay of Alcúdia, is about 12 km away and offers a fine sandy coastline that stretches all the way to Can Picafort. The municipality has about 1000 inhabitants and is not touristy. Búger is situated on a small hill on top of which is the church "Eglesia de Sant Pere", which was built around 1700 and whose organ dates from 1763. In the vicinity of the village there are eight historic windmills, which characterise the harmonious image of the village and should definitely be visited during a visit to Búger. Other places of interest in the village are the historic wayside crosses, called "Creus de Terme", which can be found in and around Búger and refer to the high importance of religion in past times. The view that visitors can experience from the highest point of the village, the church, is enchanting, because in the surrounding area there are bright grain fields and almond trees.
