Canyamel (East)
Canyamel is a small tourist resort in Mallorca located in the municipality of Capdepera. It is known for being one of the best places to enjoy a quiet holiday and get away from it all. During the 18th century, sugar cane was grown in this part of Mallorca and this is where the name Canyamel derives from. Canyamel means "sugar cane" and "honey" in ancient Latin. Canyamel is not very developed, but offers good hotels and perfect sports facilities. Canyamel has a very nice blue flag beach, it is surrounded by mountains and pine trees, the coastline changes with sandy and rocky stretches. The Torrent of Canyamel, which runs for 8 kilometres from the nearby town of Arta, brings fresh water to the beach. There are good services such as bars, sun loungers and showers. Also of note is the magnificent golf course, if you are a golfer, Canyamel would be a more than perfect choice for you.
