Villas in Consell

The municipality of Consell, with about 3,800 inhabitants, is located in the interior of the island between the municipalities of Binissalem and Santa María del Camí. Like the majority of the inland villages, Consell was dependent on farming and livestock for its livelihood for centuries. Nowadays, most of the inhabitants work in Palma or in tourist areas. Consell has a large vineyard area with several renowned wine cellars. The town hall is in the centre of town, as is the church and the market square, where a weekly market is held. The church 'Nuestra Señora de la Visitacion' is the most striking building there, mainly built of mares stones, the façade is decorated with a beautiful rose window and a special clock. The town hall opposite is an antique stone building with mainly straight lines. Apart from the weekly market on Thursdays, the antique flea market held every Sunday in the industrial area has become enormously popular and is one of the most popular on the island.
