Fornalutx is situated in the Tramuntana mountain range, in the valley of Sóller, between the town centre and the Puig Mayor massif. Fornalutx has an impressive mountainous backdrop, and there are many lovely walking and cycling trails and routes. It is often referred to as 'the most beautiful village in Spain' and rightly so as the scenery accompanies the beauty of the village itself. The village is made up of fincas, stone buildings and charming little streets full of plants, and the architecture is full of traditional Mallorcan beauty. The village has charming cafés offering terraces overlooking the olive and orange groves that stretch up to the pine-clad foothills of Puig Major. The main square is Plaça d'España, which is surrounded by cafes and shops. Just off the main square you will find the Fornalutx Bakery, which offers all kinds of local pastries of the day.
