Llucmajor is located in the south of Mallorca, about 20 km from the capital Palma near the village of Algaida, which is known for its three monasteries on the "Puig de Randa". The small town, which is also popular with tourists, has just under 10,000 inhabitants and lies at the foot of a mountain massif. Visitors can find out about times gone by in the 5000-year-old caves to the south of the town. These once served as burial sites. Another piece of history can be experienced at the nearby settlement of "Capocorb Vell". In the alleys of Llucmajor and at the "Plaça d'Espanya" you can visit numerous bars and traditional coffee houses and eat delicious tarts or tapas after exploring the vegetable market, which takes place on Fridays. There you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables directly from the producers at reasonable prices. A hike to the Randa monastery mountain also offers the opportunity to discover fascinating nature and culture.
