Montuiri (Center)

Perched on a hill and surrounded by picturesque windmills, the medieval village of Montuiri is a good representation of rural and traditional Mallorca. The parish church of Sant Bartomeu, built in the 14th century, is enthroned on a small hill in the centre of the village and, together with the surrounding houses, gives the village a romantic atmosphere. Montuiri has a lot to offer for those interested in culture: besides an archaeological site in a settlement of the ancient Talayotic culture, you can visit a beautiful hermitage and the windmill quarter Es Molinar. In the village itself there are several restaurants and shops offering excellent island dishes and local products.
