Portopetro (South)
Portopetro is a port town on the southeast coast and is part of the municipality of Santanyí. The port of Portopetro is situated on the western side of the large bay of Sa Platja and extends into the small bay of Calo de Moix. The restaurants and bars of the town are clustered together all the way to the end of the harbour, which is still mainly used as a fishing harbour, but also has a small marina for tourism. In summer there is a ferry connection to the nature-protected island of Cabrera. Not far from Cala d'Or and Portopetro is the nature park of Mondragó with the beaches of Ses Fonts de n'Alís and S'Amarador in the double bay of Cala Mondragó. The park, which is free of charge, is recommended for short excursions or a swim at the beach.
