Santa Margalida (North)

Santa Margalida, which belongs to the Pla de Mallorca region, borders the municipalities of María de la Salud, Muro, Artá, Petra and Ariany. Santa Margalida is a clear example of an inland village, which stands out for its stately houses, such as the Casa den Verga Joven or the house of the rectory; the Plaza de la Villa or the Town Hall. One of the most charismatic areas of the village is the esplanade of the Parish Church. Its old walls, the 17th century church steeped in history, as well as the locals, give the village a very special touch. On the outskirts of the town is the "Finca del Barón", which has been converted into a knight's hall with a horse racing track and invites visitors to medieval festivals in the summer months. Santa Margalida is also worth a visit on the first weekend in September, when the "La Baeta" festival is celebrated and many Mallorcans flock to the sleepy town and bring it to life.
