Santa Maria (Center)
The village of Santa María del Camí is situated in the western interior of Mallorca. It is at the gateway to the Serra de Tramuntana, has one of the most magnificent mountain backdrops, is surrounded by olive, almond and carob trees, together with a growing number of vineyards. Santa Maria is a small and cosy town that oozes Majorcan-Mediterranean charm. In the village, you can discover the 13th century church with its associated rock garden and take walks in the charming surrounding nature. The tapas bars offer fine delicacies and the wine cellars delicious island wines, which visitors should try. Another feature of Santa Maria is its past in the textile industry, which is still evident in the town today. For example, there are many leather goods merchants in the town selling handmade products. The weekly market is held on Sundays from 9:00 to 14:00.
