Son Serra de Marina (East)

IIn the north of Majorca is one of the last completely natural beaches of the Mediterranean island: the beach of "Son Serra de Marina". It is located in the village of the same name, just a few kilometres away from the holiday resort of Alcudia. Son Serra de Marina is a locality where the houses are of one and two floors, there are no big hotel complexes and you can enjoy some few but very good restaurants on the sea front. From September onwards the place sometimes seems deserted. The locals consider the beach of Son Serra de Marina to be the most idyllic and peaceful beach of the whole Bay of Alcudia. In the interior of the beach of Son Serra de Marina there is an extensive dune landscape which is under natural protection and unfortunately is not allowed to be entered. Juniper, sea lilies, sea holly and rosemary thrive here, as well as many protected bird species. The only remaining structures on the dunes are the stone obelisks, the ancient load-bearing towers, reminiscent of obelisks with their pyramid-shaped bodies. In summer, bathers can rent SUP (stand up paddle boards), as the beach has ideal conditions for surfing, kite surfing and stand up paddle boarding.
